Whodunnit Puzzle Books
Each puzzle book contains a mystery that needs to be solved. In each mystery you will find:
- A selection of suspects - one of whom is guilty.
- A selection of weapons/implements - one of which was used to commit the crime.
- A selection of locations - one of which is where the crime was committed.
You have to identify the guilty suspect, weapon, and location. In some books you also have to deduce the hidden motive for the crime.
Types of Puzzle
Each puzzle book contains a collection of puzzles. These are loosely themed around the particular event/occasion that the puzzle book is for. Some of the types of puzzles you will find in the books are:
- Word Searches
- Word Jigs
- Mazes
- Treasure Hunts
- Observation
- Crosswords
- Anagrams
- Word Flows
- Number Puzzles
- Lateral Thinking
- Logic Problems
- Quizzes
Solving the puzzles will allow you to eliminate suspects, weapons and locations until only the guilty items remain.
Suspects' Personal Puzzles
In all the puzzle books, each of the suspects will be presenting their own personal puzzle. However in the puzzle books with a difficulty rating of 2 or greater, the puzzle presented by the guilty suspect is designed to mislead you. You can therefore only trust the elimination information provided by a suspect's personal puzzle when you have eliminated that suspect from your enquiries.
Level 3 Difficulty Books
Puzzle books with a difficulty rating of 3 feature more suspects, weapons and locations than the other books. You also have to work out the motive for the crime. These books also contain Red Herring Puzzles. The elimination information from these red herring puzzles cannot be trusted. At first you won't know which puzzles are the red herrings. However other puzzles within the book will unmask them!
