Aim of the Game
To be the player to manoeuvre both their clownfish playing pieces through the four coral reef regions of the playing board (and their associated predators) to the safety of the sea anemone on square 40.
Full Details
Each player has a playing board made up of 40 squares.
The playing board is split into 4 regions:
- Blue Reef (squares 1 to 10)
- Pink Reef (squares 11 to 20)
- Green Reef (squares 21 to 30)
- Yellow Reef (squares 31 to 39)
Square 40 is the finish square and contains the sea anemone that is the clownfish home.
Each of the squares within the 4 regions contains one of the characters below. Each character will be activated by a specific dice roll and causes a specific action when it is activated.
- Plankton - Move forwards 3 squares
- Octopus - Move backwards 6 squares
- Tuna Fish - Move back to entrance of the current region
- Sea Snake - Move back to entrance of the current region
- Shark - Move back to square 1 in the Blue Reef
All the boards have a different arrangement of characters meaning that all players can play the game simultaneously.
Each player has two playing pieces. These are placed on the square 1 start at the entrance to the Blue Reef.
The Game Host will roll a dice and call the number aloud. All players will move one of their playing piece the appropriate number of squares.
The Game Host will roll the dice again to activate one of the above characters. They will call the name of the activated character aloud. All playing pieces currently on a square featuring the activated character must take the appropriate action. E.g. if the octopus is activated, all playing pieces on a square containing an octopus must move backwards 6 squares.
Play continues in a similar manner, the party host alternatively rolling the dice first for players to move and then rolling a second time to activate a character.
The first player to manoeuvre both of their clownfish playing pieces into the safety of the sea anemone on square 40 is the winner.
Rules Script
The game comes with a rules script which you can read aloud to explain the game and its rules to the players.
