Aim of the Game

To be the first person to fully shade in their mutant beetle.

Full Details

Each player will have their own playing board. This board contains four beetles. One beetle is in colour. The other three beetles are in black and white. One black and white beetle is used per game so up to three games can be played.

Each beetle is made up of the following parts:

  • Body
  • Head
  • Legs
  • Wings
  • Feelers
  • Eyes
  • Tongue
  • Tail
  • Claws
  • Poison Barbs

All beetles have one head and one body but the number of other body parts will vary depending on the type of beetle.

At the top of each board is a dice roll table. This shows the numbers 2 to 12 which are all the possible totals that can be formed by rolling two dice. Besides each number is a selection of beetle body parts. These tables are all different. For example a dice roll of 5 may allow a player with one board to "acquire" either a leg or a tail, whereas a player with a different board will be able to acquire either a wing or a feeler. This means all players can play the same game simultaneously.

The party host will roll the dice and announce the total. Each player will look at the dice roll table at the top of their board, note the body parts available to them and, if able, shade in one of these body parts on their beetle.

The first player to completely shade in their entire beetle is the winner.

Two more games can be played using the other two mutant beetles.

Small and Big Party Versions
