Aim of the Game
To be the player who has the most ships still floating after the party host has fired 30 torpedoes.
Full Details
Each player will have their own battleships board. Each board is sufficient for two games. The first game will be "Rainbow Armada". The second game will be "European Navy".
Each game features a grid of 36 squares representing the sea. Within the grid are 6 ships. These are:
- Aircraft Carrier - occupies 5 squares
- Battleship - occupies 4 squares
- Cruiser - occupies 3 squares
- Submarine - occupies 3 squares
- Destroyer - occupies 2 squares
- Patrol Boat - occupies 1 square
The location of these ships is different for each grid meaning that all players can play the same game simultaneously.
There are also 36 torpedoes. Each torpedo is labelled with a specific grid reference.
During the game the party host will fire 30 of these torpedoes one by one. As all the boards are different a single torpedo will hit ships on some boards while exploding harmlessly in open sea on other boards.
As further torpedoes are fired more and more ships will become damaged and eventually some will be destroyed and sink.
The winner is the player who, after 30 torpedoes have been fired, has the greatest number of ships still afloat. If multiple players have the same number of ships still afloat then the winner will be decided by the firing of "super torpedoes".
Small and Big Party Versions
As well as the extra game boards these versions include a suggested script for explaining the game's rules to your guests.
Personalised Versions
In the product pictures you can see that the names of the ships on the boards can be personalised to bear the names of your actual party guests! This will make the party feel special and will lead to amusing outbursts such as "You've just sunk cousin Melanie!"
